# Slash commands

Slash commands let collaborators control Qodex directly from a pull request. Use the canonical GitHub mention, `@qodex-ai`; Qodex still accepts the older `@qodex` spelling for existing PRs, but new commands should use `@qodex-ai`.

On GitHub, collaborators with write access can run commands. Qodex reacts to a recognized command, then posts an acknowledgement or result on the PR. On GitLab, use the handle of the connected bot account; `approve` is not available for merge requests.

## Commands

| Command | Where to use it | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| `@qodex-ai review` or `@qodex-ai retry` | Top-level PR comment | Re-review the current head commit. Existing findings carry forward instead of repeating. |
| `@qodex-ai full review` | Top-level PR comment | Review from scratch and disregard findings raised in an earlier review. |
| `@qodex-ai pause` | Top-level PR comment | Stop automatic reviews for new pushes to this PR. A manual `review` command still works. |
| `@qodex-ai resume` | Top-level PR comment | Resume automatic reviews for new pushes. |
| `@qodex-ai resolve` | Top-level PR comment | Mark every open Qodex finding on the PR as resolved and close its Qodex review threads. |
| `@qodex-ai approve` | Top-level PR comment | Resolve open Qodex findings, then submit a GitHub approval. This is disabled until a maintainer enables it in **Settings > PR review > Commands**. |
| `@qodex-ai configuration` | Top-level PR comment | Post the effective review settings for the repo and PR. |
| `@qodex-ai summary` | Top-level PR comment | Rewrite the **Summary by Qodex** section in the PR description. The same line in the description marks where the section should go. |
| `@qodex-ai generate sequence diagram` | Top-level PR comment | Post a Mermaid sequence diagram of the flow changed by the PR. `@qodex-ai sequence diagram` also works. |
| `@qodex-ai ignore` | PR description | Disable automatic reviews for this PR. A manual `review` command still works. |
| `@qodex-ai help` | Anywhere | Post the current command list. A bare `@qodex-ai` on its own line does the same. |

## Re-review behavior

Use `review` after a fix, a policy change, or a preview-deployment change. When Qodex has a prior successful review, ordinary automatic re-reviews focus on the changed delta and retain earlier findings. `full review` deliberately bypasses that incremental behavior.

`review` works even when automatic reviews are off for the repository, and the walkthrough names who asked. Every requested review counts against the plan's reviews-per-pull-request limit. When the pull request has none left, Qodex replies "Review limit reached" instead of starting a review.

## Parser rules

* The first command in a comment wins; put only one command in each comment.
* Blockquote and list prefixes are accepted, so `> @qodex-ai review` and `- @qodex-ai review` work.
* Commands are case-insensitive.
* A plain-English reply to a Qodex finding is treated as review feedback, not as a command. Qodex can use that feedback as repository-specific review context.
